I am super pumped for this album. Tunnels was AWESOME! I think I rank the songs out so far:

1. Tunnels
2. Bullets
3. The Wolfpack
4. Paralyzed

I think I have only listened to Paralyzed like once. Maybe with more it will finally grow on me. Tunnels and Bullets have absolutely caught me by surprise. The Wolfpack is great musically but lyrically just falls really flat.

Overall I am still super pumped for this album. I think it's gonna catch everyone by surprise.

Remember when I said Rite of Spring is extremely corny and bad? This is extremely corny but in a way that is well executed. There's something inherently goofy in the way the song builds up combined with the choice of melody and guitar sounds, but the song is purposeful and ultimately it's enjoyable anyway. This is definitely going to be the best AVA album.

There's a bit of a generic radio rock sound to this, and it sounds 'movie trailerish' (which it is used for of course :p ) but it's done more tastefully than songs of this type.

My updated version of the lyrics. I'm pretty sure 99% of it is correct.

I am still without devotion
Cause we’re all asleep at the wheel
Asleep and so surrounded by what we feel; a bad dream
On a rope, then pulled through the ocean
With my heart, I’m lost out at sea
And every kind of thought screams misery; so lonely

I’m a Johnny-come-lately, but I will not give up
And the words they escape me, but I’m full of dumb luck
And the world is an oyster, with a poisonous shell
And the look in my eye, is a look that can kill

I am not without emotion
I have ran from the pain of my war
From the mess of a hunt, and the catch and the throw; and I kneel.
I am known in the circles of envy.
I’d thank God, but then what is he for?
Cause I left a few more calls at his front door; I’ll leave more.

I’m a Johnny-come-lately, but I will not give up.
And the words they’d escape me, but I’m full of dumb luck.
And the world is an oyster with a poisonous shell
And the look in my eye, is a look that can kill.

Don’t you go, come a little bit closer now
If you like, when you die
Lose your soul, to a little white fire now
If you like, when you die.
Speak to me, cry a river and make believe
If you like, when you die.
Clasp your hands, do whatever your heart commands
You will find, when you die, you are mine.
