No Future Discussion

LYRICS:

She said tonight's a waste of time
The next day the sun will always rise
Every day that you waste, every promise you break
Slips beneath the floor
It's a permanent state from a moment's mistake
But life's worth so much more

You don't know a thing about it
Hours lost to dawn from dusk, yeah
They don't care about you (NO FUTURE)
Let the music seal your fate, yeah
You can run, but life won't wait
They don't care about you (NO FUTURE)

She said that it's too late to try
Someday I'll smile and say goodbye
Every night that you fight every demon in sight
Sleeping on the floor
Wide awake from the dream with a shake and a scream
Hope for so much more

*CHORUS*

Na x 100,000
They don't care about you
Na x 100,000

Where did she go and what did she hope to find there?
Where did she go and what did she hope to find there?
Where did she go, did she go, did she go?
Where did she go to find it?
Where did she go, did she go, did she go?
Where did she go to find it?

*CHORUS*

Reminds me a LOT of Offspring, Sum-41, maybe Volbeat a little. Lots of punk-pop staples, but the only thing making me think of blink is the drums.

I really really really have no idea how I'll refrain from listening to this, but I will try. I don't enjoy hearing 3 real songs before an album...especially since I'm hoping this leaks in the next few days.

Also with this release any slight hope for a stream a week before release is probably out!

I'll take one for the team then :P

Best song so far! Amazing, this for me is how blink-182 should sound like in 2016. It made me want to sing along instantly, it sounds happy and summery but you also get that underlying feeling of something darker underneath. Basically how they described California as a place and the music on the album.

I think this is the best of the released songs, but the "Na na na" part is absolutely cringe and doesn't fit with the vibe of the song at all. I wish they had done something else there or just dropped that part completely.

Lyrically the track is very well written -- the vibe it gives musically is poppy but the lyrical ideas are darker, which apparently is what they were going for with this album as a whole and so I think this track speaks well to that.

Once again, another song in which I first think "not bad" but will probably grow into liking it a lot.

I like the song, especially the "They don't care about you" parts, but the lyrics from Matt are kind of bland. He's singing about sleeping on the floor again, what a shocker. I really hope he moves on from insomnia as a recurring theme in the rest of the songs.

Anyone else notice how much pitch correction is being used on mark in the first few seconds of the first verse? Sounds kinda robot-y in parts.

This is the first song I don't like. I thought I'd be down for the na na na's but I don't think this song was executed well. But at least we got another "she said" from Mark lol.

Yes. ALL OF THE YES. This is my favorite so far. I will post again later when I have more time to let it marinate.

I honestly can't put into words how much I hate the Na Na's

I may end up making an edit of the song where I just splice those parts out because it is ruining the track for me

Well sure. If people think Tom sucks live, Mark has been worse for years prior to that. Marks got a real issue with being flat or over quiet for certain songs.

I'm not judging at all - I encourage pitch correction - I just wish more artists would use it live. Toms best live performances with AVA were all using live pitch correction. Mark would sound so much better with it too.

I don't care too much about the "na na na"s, but if there is one thing about the song I find kinda lame, it's the gang vocals. Gang vocals are over-fucking-rated.

I really love Matt's vocals on this one. Especially his verse and the bridge!

Thought it was pretty alright. Only listened through my iPhone speaker though, cause I'm at work lol. Gotta listen to it through headphones.

I think I'm more disappointed because there seemed to be so much hype on this song. This'll probably be a skip track for me.

I really wish for the final "they don't caaaaaarre, aboooouutt yooouuuu" they 'd throw a "now" at the end.

I wish they threw an "And" at the start of the opening line.

At least the drums are more prominent on this than the other two.
