Blink-182 European Tour 2010 Done, Now Back To The Studio

The 2010 European Tour is over and done with (check out videos and pictures in the forum) and now blink-182 are heading straight back into the studio according to engineer and friend Chris Holmes.

    And the process FINALLY begins! Recording has finally hit priority #1 (until Mark starts his show next week haha) and it’s only a matter of time before I have to make that oh-so-tough decision to spoil the wait and listen to new song/demo clips. Looking forward to it!

    About time. Although. we’ve heard this before 3 times before and nothing has come of it. January 2009, after their Summer 2009 tour and in January 2010.

    Let’s hope this is for real, and it doesn’t turn out to be a case of Tom going off and working on Love Part 2, Travis doing his solo album and Mark producing other bands.

    What’s with all the skepticism? As far as I can recall their intention was always to tour first. You have to tour first before putting out a full length. I don’t think they ever said it’s studio time, we are going in right this second. I could be wrong of course and may have missed that bit of news. I remember them saying they are working on new songs and demos and recording those on tour. That doesn’t mean those songs are what are gonna be on the new record or even that those were full songs. Being in a band myself, I know that song writing and album writing are two different things. I’m always demoing songs, but those take a long time and a lot of work to come to fruition. Most are just ideas, segmented pieces that need further work to expand and arrange. My point is just because they were recording songs doesn’t mean they were working on the record, it means they were keeping track of their ideas and building them to later use. Will those tracks and ideas be used, who knows? I myself have written an albums worth of songs only to use a handful of ideas from them. I have a feeling they work the same way; small steps to build a bigger picture. As always, relax and take a time out and think beyond yourself for a little bit. The album will come when its time to come and fully worked out. The time will pass your life will go on, whining about it only makes the time pass more slowly and torturing. We are all excited for the new one, just give them a little time and space to work.

    @pavel I don’t know who kelly perry is… Tyler Perry, however, is still a butthole (I haven’t used “butthole” in a long time… Its satisfying! Try it, say it out loud!). No, no new Perry jokes; I’ll let his films do the joking for me.

    I never really saw anything concrete about them actually recording an album until recently. I don’t know why people were literally expecting them to have an album out, like, last year or something.

    I think that tour was a good eye-opening experience for Tom and hopefully he now realizes just how important blink is to so many people. Several times in the last year it seemed like Tom looked at blink basically as a vehicle to carry AVA forward, and that is just disgusting. I’m beyond excited to go get this new album and to have some clips to tide me over soon!

    Actually I remember INTENTLY watching the grammy’s back in 09 and they said they were going to be releasing an album by the end of the year *hopefully*, and here we are almost 2 years since that announcement.. and nothing, I myself even thought that was a bit ambitious… but hopefully they are serious this time.
