Blink-182 Promise Perez Hilton They’ll Cover Lady Gaga On Tour
Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker exchange Tweets with celeb-gossip blogger, asking him to join them onstage.
Perhaps someone should take the Twitter away from Mark Hoppus. Things are starting to get out of hand.
At first, Hoppus used his Tweets solely for good — witness his remix of Fall Out Boy’s “America’s Suitehearts” and the Octo-Drive mania that followed — but somewhere along the way, things changed.
And now, well, we get this.
On Tuesday (June 9), Hoppus took to his Twitter account to promise (threaten?) that Blink-182 will work a Lady Gaga song into the set on their upcoming tour, so long as celebrity-gossip-monger Perez Hilton joins them to sing along.
It all started rather innocently on Monday, when Hoppus Tweeted that he was at Blink rehearsals and it was “probably the last day we’ll be adding more songs to the set list. Any last-minute suggestions?”
That, of course, set off a cavalcade of suggestions from fans and one from Hilton, who jokingly asked that they throw a Gaga song into the mix. Hoppus, somewhat surprisingly, responded.
“Ask and ye shall receive,” he wrote. “You name the Lady Gaga song, and I will work it into the set. Your choice.”
Things were quiet for a minute, until Hoppus’ Tweet was seconded by Blink drummer Travis Barker, who Tweeted, “I am down 2 do a full Lady Gaga set 4 you if need be. [But] only if Perez Hilton sings 4 us.”
So, of course, Hilton agreed to do it (he loves Gaga, after all), only with one caveat: He’d need some help from T-Pain.
“Sure!” he wrote in response to Barker and Hoppus. “Let me just borrow T-Pain’s Auto-Tune machine and I’m there!”
Since then, there have been no further developments, as perhaps everyone came to their senses and realized just how close they all came to the brink. Hoppus has gone back to Tweeting about “Star Wars” and stains on his pants, while Hilton has returned to firing off missives like “He’s gay!” and “Pat Robertson is a dumb bitch!” and all of us can perhaps breath a little easier.

lol Whoever wrote that article is a doucher. Didn’t they also joke about bringing T-Pain or someone on tour before? They were obviously joking, and if they did do a cover (Perez wouldn’t join, I very much doubt), I think it’d be hilarious.

lady gaga is one of the best singers in the world but she does bad things too …
