Tom: LIVE MODCAM AT 9:30 PM / PT SUNDAY NIGHT
Tom has updated the Modlife blog with a new video blog. In the video, he states that:
- The blink-182 reunion is not a reunion per say, but more of a continuation.
- Angels & Airwaves are not going away, and they are finishing the final touches on the I-Empire film.
- Angels & Airwaves will be playing a “private event for NASA”, as well as a few “Pay-Per-View events”.
- blink-182 are working on “some really interesting, rad stuff” that could be “potentially affiliated with Angels & Airwaves”.
- There will be a live Modcam to discuss all of this on Sunday night, and Tom is eager to answer any questions.
- This Valentine’s Day, you should “make love to yourself if you can’t make love to anyone else”.

How will blink and AVA be affiltrated with each other? I need to know. I really dont want blink to end up sounding like AVA. If blink and AVA go on tour…somehow…thatd be okay i guess.

i am a die hard blink fan and this is the first time tom makes me realy angry and sick about him. thats fucking hard to see tom talk like that. i have a bad feeling about blink, this can not be good

Yeah, that vid doesn’t inspire much confidence in blink lasting very long. Although to be honest I’d say once blink puts out an album and it sells a few million copies in comparison to how little AvA sells… the label will probably push them to keep working on blink, as will their fundamental greed.

How does it make it seem like blink isnt going anywhere? Tom said its not a “reunion” but a “continuation” which means, there gonna continue making music together as long as they’re happy. I think he just said “this blink thing for a little bit” because he’s gonna be working with blink and AVA off and on. He has to please ALL his fans.

I seriously hope Blink lasts a good while. I also hope they sound like Blink and nothing like Angels and Airwaves =/. I didn’t like them =(.

The fact that he says “the guys” and not “we” are working on some interesting stuff and that he keeps saying he’ll do the blink thing for a little bit does not make it seem like he is into this at all.

yea. i had mixed feeling about it when i first read it, but after watching the video i’m not as worried. i agree with Waggy- I think he just said “this blink thing for a little bit” because he’s gonna be working with blink and AVA off and on.- that was my thought as well.
i mean nobody thought they would get back together anyway, and here they are. working on blink for a “little bit” isnt necessarily a bad thing. it’s just one of those statements that can be taken either way.

listen up tom i hate to sound harsh but as long as we have blink, there will be very little love lost for ava. those ava fans who weren’t into blink before soon will be and we can all be a happy family.

alright, well blink will probably get a modlife.
When tom is reffering to “blink for a little bit” he’s refering to the AVA fans @ modlife to tell them what his primary interest is.
So hes pretty much just saying, “ava isnt gone…im just mainly focusing on blink-182 solely for the next while….Ava will still do stuff and make progress, but right now I’m balancing blink”
we have to think more that the blog is for ANGELS AND AIRWAVES fans, so he’s pretty much speaking to them

angels and airwaves int just the band, its like a whole lifestyle for tom!!
i dont fink he is only refering to angels and airwaves as a band!!
and if anything, tom seems the most excited now, as he is the one blogging like 3 times everyday compared to marks 1 and travis is yet to be in touch ha!!

It’s so ridiculous how many different ways this could go, how many different outcomes are possible. I’m just gonna ignore it for a week and see what develops in the meantime, the speculation makes me think too much, I wanna hear it straight from the band, as a group, what exactly is going on. I hope they don’t ruin their legacy though. I hope it’s not like Michael Jordan’s return to the Wizards if you know what I’m sayin.

Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in your ambitions to pave the way to the future, a new way of doing music, that you forget about what the kids think.
I think most kids want to hear music that inspires them, but at the same time, a lot of kids want to hear music that is about being young, dumb, and bad at relationships. Hell, that’s why my band got together.
AVA is an awesome band, but kids fell in love with blink because they weren’t trying to change the world or preach a message of love and inspiration. In fact, that’s WHY blink has changed the world so much.
